Tortola, the
largest, most populous island of the British Virgin Islands, draws
snorkelers with its pristine white sand beaches and clear, calm water.
Smuggler’s Cove and Cane Garnen Bay, on Tortola’s north coast, are among
the best spots for snorkeling in the area. Also on the north coast, be
sure to check out Little Apple Bay, Cappoons Bay and Carrot Bay.
Gear outfitters
and tour operators abound on Tortola. Many tour boats depart from Inner
Harbor Marina in Road Town and the Harbour View Marina in Fat Hog’s Bay.
Wherever you roam on and around Tortola, you are sure to find
opportunities for great snorkeling adventures.
