South Africa’s coast is lined with
spectacular beaches. Cape Town's beaches are well-known for their
natural splendor unspoiled by crowds. The waters on the Atlantic side
are too cold for swimming and snorkeling, but the waters on the False
Bay side of the peninsula are warm, calm and clear – perfect for
snorkeling. St. James, Kalk Bay and Simon’s Town are great spots to
explore. Fish Hoek is known for it’s clear, calm water. Boulders Beach
has sheltered water spots that are perfect for snorkeling. The area
around Boulders and Seaforth is dotted with countless coves, bays and
tidal pools for snorkelers to enjoy. High season in Cape Town runs from
November to January, but great weather extends into February and March.
