Bimini Snorkeling
|
|
| Bimini - only
50 miles off the coast of Fort Lauderdale is the closest part of the
Bahamas to the United States. North Bimini and South Bimini are the
largest of this chain of islands, and are both well known destinations
for fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling. The clear Caribbean waters of
Bimini offer excellent access to tropical fish, stingrays and many
species of sharks. Grab a local snorkeling charter for a trip to
gorgeous white sand beaches where you can enjoy the sun, swim with the
stingrays and view a wide variety of colorful fish. Legend and
lore surround several locations on Bimini. |
 |
In addition to being the
supposed location of the fountain of youth, the “Bimini Road” is an
underwater collection of smooth and seemingly carved stones that many
debate as being either geological formations, evidence of Atlantis or
creations of shipwrecked sailors. Whether or not you think Bimini is the
location of the Fountain of Youth or Atlantis, snorkeling in Bimini
should be a part of any trip to the islands. |
